Director I Screenwriter I Producer at Fantascope Films

Florin Șerban studied Film at Columbia University in New York, holds a BFA and MFA in Film Directing, a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Philosophy of Culture and Hermeneutics. With his first feature film If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle (2010), Florin Șerban received the Silver Bear – Grand Prize of the Jury and the Alfred Bauer Award for innovation in cinema at the 2010 Berlin International Film Festival, along with many other international awards. His second movie, Box (2015) won the FIPRESCI Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. His third feature film Love 1. DOG, the first part of the Love Trilogy, premiered in August 2018 at the International Sarajevo Film Festival, where it won the the ART CINEMA and the CINEUROPA awards. Also, in October, the film was presented at the Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest Festival. Currently he is producing The Doe, a feature film directed by Bogdan George Apetri. He also directs commercials and teaches at The Acting School in Bucharest, Romania.

OANA IANCU

Producer | Collaborator at Fantascope Films

Oana Iancu (Kelemen) is an up-and-coming Romanian producer who has worked with Florin Șerban on three of his feature films projects: Box (2015), Love 1. DOG and Love 2. America (in post-production). Oana was the delegate producer of Radu Muntean’s One Floor Below (2015), selected at Un Certain Regard in Cannes, and she is going to be the producer of Radu’s next film: Alice T., together with Dragos Vilcu. She is the co-producer of the Turkish feature film debut Album (2016) by Mehmet Can Mertoglu, a film that received the France 4 Visionary Award in Semaine de la Critique in Cannes and the Heart of Sarajevo at Sarajevo Film Festival. Besides Florin Șerban’s films, she is currently working on Calin Peter Netzer’s next feature, Ana, mon amour (in post-production) and on Bogdan George Apetri’s second feature film The Doe (in development), which will be produced also by Fantascope Films.

FLORENTINA ONEA

Producer | Collaborator at Fantascope Films

Florentina Onea has been the producer of many award-winning Romanian films in the past 15 years. She was the executive producer of Florin Șerban’s first feature films: If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle (2010) and Box (2015). She is also the producer and executive producer of his third feature film, Love 1. DOG. Her successful career as an executive producer began with Traffic directed by Cătălin Mitulescu, the short film which won the Palm d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004. Among other film projects, she produced two of Cătălin Mitulescu’s feature films: The Way I Spent the End of the World (2005) and Loverboy (2011). In 2007 she was the delegate producer of another Palm d’Or winner: 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, written and directed by Cristian Mungiu. In addition to working with established film directors, Florentina is also interested in collaborating with emerging Romanian filmmakers, like Anca Miruna Lăzărescu and Andra Chiriac.
