Florin Șerban’s new film will be Love 1. DOG. It can be considered a love story, a film noir or a western. Like the previous films of the director, we cannot say that it belongs to a certain film genre. The story happens in the ’30s, in the mountains; a forester who lives like a hermit finds in the forest a woman who has been brutally beaten. Valeriu Andriuță and Cosmina Stratan (Palme D’Or 2012) are the protagonists of a film whose image is created by Marcin Koszalka, one of the most acclaimed Polish directors and cinematographers.
The Man Who Didn’t Say a Thing, Florin Șerban’s most recent short film, will have its world premiere at Montreal. The Montreal World Film Festival (August 25 – September 5), which has reached its 40th edition this year, is the only competitive film festival in North America recognized by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations). Florin Șerban’s short film, which will be screened on August 26 and August 27, has been selected in the World Competition section along with other 11 short films from around the world.
